Originally from France where she had been incorporating a therapeutic approach into her work with babies and children in nurseries and in special education, Sara came to the UK in 2012 and established Cocoon Time Massage Therapy. She works in various highly acclaimed therapy centres in North Devon providing Thai massage and reflexology, hot stone massage, pregnancy massage and also runs baby massage classes helping mums and dads connect with their babies. Her practice is focused on well being with the aim of helping people feel good about themselves and live pain-free lives. In order to offer a unique and personalised treatment, she adopts an intuitive approach, listening and responding to her client’s body whilst utilising a host of different styles and techniques.
Alison Prichard trained and qualified in beauty therapy in Coventy, Leamington Spa and then at Leicester College over 24 years ago and ran her own salon in Warwickshire for 8 years before becoming a teacher in her local beauty school while continuing to work as a therapist herself. She and her family relocated to Bideford in search of a better quality of life a few years ago and she now gives her treatments at the Treatment and Therapy Rooms, 50a Mill Street Bideford. She limits her treatments to the more advanced therapies including semi-permanent makeup, eyebrow and eyeliner tatooing, microdermabrasion, skin peels, oxygen facials, electrolysis and waxing.
Renata set up Vibro Gym over three years ago in her conservatory at her home in Littleham. She has 2 professional vibration plates which are much much more powerful than the kind of plates that you get for the home or than the kind you find at the gym. Renata is a highly experienced trainer who has been in the health and fitness industry for over 5 years. She's an accredited Registered Exercise Professional which means that she is a specialist instructor with cardiac rehabilitation expertise, and leads exercise classes for people of all ages in addition to running her vibro gym providing 1-2-1 personal training so you can be sure you'll be in safe hands. She's a warm and welcoming lady with , as you'd expect, bags of energy and plenty of motivation. She'll be fun to work with but also keep you on course. Sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays 8am til 5,30pm.
Susan has been an ITEC qualified massage practitioner for 20 years. Susan considers herself lucky to have experienced and trained in so many types of massage, all beneficial and unique in their own way. She is expert in her own unique brand of Therapeutic Massage combining Swedish Body massage, some deep tissue, myofacial release and rebounding. She is also expert in Abdominal-Sacral massage which she studied after a period of illness during a trip to Belize where she first received this treatment herself and is a strong believer in looking after your belly.She is passionate about what she does and so pleased to have found her vocation. She set up her practice called Pure Massage in North Devon and Cornwall and treats a wide range of clients at Shine in Bude, famous for its beautiful upstairs therapy rooms which are appointed to a very high standard. Dance Fit is owned and run by qualified and experienced dance and fitness instructor, Pilates, belly dancer and burlesque fitness teacher Anne. Anne has been dancing the whole of her life and is trained in Latin American, Belly Dance and Burlesque and teaches all three in dance excercise. She is also a qualified fitness and Pilates instructor and started teaching in 2009. Jeannette worked in nursing homes for many years before starting her training in foot health. She since went on to train in a range of therapies and is now fully qualified in foot care and pedicure, Manicure and Shellac nails, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, Swedish and many other forms of Massage , Hopi Ear Candling,and Bowen Technique and offers all of these treatments in addition to warm wax hair removal. She has a caring, gentle, but competent and professional approach, working in her practice uniform. Her treatment room which is at the front of her home on a residential estate in Northam is impressive and unexpectedly one of the best equipped treatment rooms of its kind I have found in North Devon and is exceptionally private with free parking outside. Jeanette's hours are Tuesday to Friday 9am until 4.30pm with late nights on Tuesdays and Thursdays when she is open until 7.30pm. Jo Burgess and her husband David set up Raphael Treatment and Therapy Rooms over five years ago in Mill Street, Bideford to provide a care centre for body and mind. Treatments are personalised and customised, and given in a relaxed, respectful manner by a multi disciplinary qualified team. Jo is a qualified level three beauty therapist, nail technician and masseuse and currently study at level 4 beauty skills! Earlier this year Raphael expanded into the building next door to create more therapy rooms. The refurbishment programme is still in progress in part, although that does not effect the quality of the service for the many customers who enjoy their treatments at Raphael. The Plough Arts Centre,Torrington are organisers of the Open Air Theatre Season. The Plough is a beacon for the arts, and has been creating arts opportunities for all since the 1970's.
