With this great GrooVee you get a one day Dance Fitness Workshop on Sunday 1st July 10am til 3.30pm at a venue in Bideford plus 2 follow on classes of your choice: choose from Dance Fitness, Monday’s 7.30 pm at Northam or Wednesday’s 7.15pm at Bideford. 50+ Dance Fitness on Wednesdays at 10am in Bideford or 12pm at Roundswell, or Belly dance at 8pm on Wednesdays in Bideford. It's great fun, you'll make new friends and get fit too!
Dance Fitness is a Latin inspired dance fitness that incorporates Latin and international music and dance movements creating a dynamic, exciting, exhilarating and effective approach to fitness. Dance styles include Salsa, Cha Cha Cha, Bachata, Merengue, Belly dance and Reggaton. The one day workshop is a great way to get into Dance Fitness because there is plenty of time for expert and very experienced teacher Anne to break down all of the moves for you literally step by step. She'll cover timing, foot placement, weight transfer, rhythms, movement and choreography over the 5 and half hour workshop including an hour at the end of wellbeing work to finish incorporating yoga, pilates and Thai Chi based stretching and relaxation. It's superb. Great whether you can already dance or can't dance at all. Anne will work to your abilities to ensure that you feel confident and comfortable with the moves. You'll leave knowing how to Cha-cha, and dance Bollywood style and with amazingly tone muscles as you'll be using maracas as light fun weights and working on dance with a calypso feel. All you will need to do is go along wearing loose clothing and trainers, with either an exercise mat or a towel and a dish for the bring and share lunch.
You'll be made to feel completely welcome from the word go. Anne will introduce herself when you get there and she'll ask you to complete a form identifying anything medical or physical issues that might effect your exercise. You'll then take your place in the workshop. She'll start with some nice warm up exercises and it builds from there. As Anne takes you through each move in detail so your confidence will increase, helped by the warm feeling of mutual support that characterise all of Anne's workshops and classes. Everyone makes mistakes, there is no judgement, no posing and people of all shapes and sizes and all fitness levels in the room. You'll have a 10 minute break every hour or so (Anne provides tea , coffee and juice) and you'll enjoy your bring and share lunch with everyone at around 12.30pm for 45 minutes when you can share your experiences and have a good laugh before you start your afternoon session with Maracas before you cool down with the last hours stretch and relax. The day will give you a full body workout: aerobic, core work, legs, bums and bingo wings included but you'll be having so much fun that you won't even notice! You won't need to worry about the impact on your body the next day either- the last hours stretching puts paid to all that so you'll feel good when you leave and for the days afterwards too.
After the workshop day you'll then have the chance to practice your new moves and keep your fitness levels up for the next 2 weeks with the two follow up classes. You can choose Dance Fitness, 50+ Dance Fitness or Belly Dance.
50+ Dance Fitness is a low impact version of the Dance Fitness designed to meet the needs of the more mature lady. Students are up to 88 years young! The Dance Fit Belly Dance class is about celebrating women of all abilities, ages, shapes and sizes. You don't get your belly or your body out for these classes (unless you really want to) but you will get to use some props.like dance belts and beautiful boas to make the experience complete. These classes are all about feeling liberated to dance and feel comfortable in your own skin.
I love Anne's down to earth approach to fitness - for her its about empowerment and building confidence rather than perfection, and most of all its about having fun in a supportive, friendly environment, so you hardly notice that you are in fact getting fitter and fitter as well as learning a wide range of dance moves - good for women of all abilities and levels.
Anne's enthusiasm and energy are totally captivating and you'll feel so motivated to give it your all. She comes alive when she dances and brings the whole class alive too, giving each person individual encouragement, confidence and the freedom to really feel the music and the joy of dance. Anne choreographs her own moves to be sure that they work for everyone in the class. It's great for the soul as well as the body!
You'll leave the workshop and the follow on classes feeling energised, happier, more relaxed, more confident in your body and with the satisfaction that you've had a good work out, but with all fun and no pain!
